“Such silence has an actual sound, the sound of disappearance.”  Suzanne Finnamore

Nothing

The mist kissed the water tenderly
and held me prisoner in the moment
that must never be squandered,
my breathing as fragile as the air,
waiting for an ending that will not come,
pulled into the juncture of realms,
lost in worlds where no thief resides
save that of my own inattention,
but I turn from that page,
even from the tempting words,
here I want for nothing.

“Free yourself from the burden of feeling the need to hold on to anything. Let go … you are a part of everything.”  Steve Maraboli

The Point Of Nothing

The point of nothing is
precisely the point,
the indecipherable point of everything,
as much as every colour is white
in the making, a surrender,
nothing is everything at one let go,
having it all by having none,
you cannot imprison love
for it ceases to exist,
only when it is set free
can it truly be.

Nothing

Sodom,
that wizened old vigneron
with such mischievous eyes,
produced an overflow of
vintage hedonism,
a beautiful shiraz
that so pleased the circus
we drank long and deep
becoming a malaise of pleasure,
completely lost in ourselves,
forgetting our very humanity,
gorging on angels
desiring more,
taking our fill of everything,
caring for no one,
dulled,
blurred,
blended
to a nothing.
