“Am I not partly leaves and vegetable mould myself?”  Henry David Thoreau

Mould

The question arises
an urgency, of course,
it is a matter of choice

of light or darkness
it’s hard to prove,
but one or other

must, with patience, or
ultraviolet
light across the floor,

show clearly the mess
whether spore or slime
gathered in pools of

water sitting in
my blackened shower
carefully displayed,

creeping nemesis,
a trap of deathly
slippage so discreet.
