I’d Rather – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“Knowing the truth is fairly useless, feeling it is profound, living it makes all the difference.” David Deida

I'd Rather

Pilate asked "What is truth?"
but what fool question is that?
More like - where is truth, who
is truth, the lived experience,
I don't want spider suits or
telephone booths and lycra,
just hello, how are you,
I'd rather your sharp uneven
teeth, or a bolt in your neck,
a humped back peel for sure,
than the cocky, self-assured
marvel faked for a fortune
of lies not mine, knowing
that truth is where love is in
all its many ways.
