If You Wish – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“Breathless, we flung us on a windy hill, Laughed in the sun, and kissed the lovely grass.” Rupert Brooke

If You Wish

If you wish a kiss
give me your mouth,
kiss me back, often, willingly,
here, take my lips,
Take me whole,
take the reins and ride me out
to the fields of faint,
flushed and breathless,
rank and damp as
lathered horses run, until
in the pale blades surrendered.

  1. Your words “flushed and breathless, rank and damp as lathered horses” sound very erotic and I guess that creating emotions is what poetry is all about.
