Monday Dreaming – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“Each being is sacred – meaning that each has inherent value that cannot be ranked in a hierarchy or compared to the value of another being.” Starhawk

Monday Dreaming

Death to hierarchies,
though not to higher arches,
those first things from early
that give us foundations,
offering us principles,
in contrast to,
those hierarchies of power,
ever encroaching the person,
ever undermining creativity,
ever destroying communalism,
ever lysing about the fruits of
its pathetically managed labours,
the flower that never blooms,
the one-sided relationship
that always takes,
the fruit that is always rotten;
this orchard may be governed,
but it is time to sweep it clean.

  2. It seems that the more we talk about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the more hierarchical our society becomes.
