The house is older now casements bowed, roofline sagged, one day I'll fix it, I used to know those who could help but they are far away now, I remember the toy soldier I found while digging in the garden, the squeak of the old swing, screen door clacking shut, I have photos of those days, an old pentax long gone, it all seems in the distance now, and yet it feels like yesterday. Yes, how the body as well as the brain stores emotional experiences is truly amazing, mental stuff can be unreliable, but the feelings are usually accurate.
