“Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with.” Brodi Ashton

To Think That We Believed In White Hats

Some time ago I wandered that dark path
where heroes habited the edge of things,
calling down the easy answers of repertoire
a spandexed phone booth solution beat.

Where heroes habited the edge of things
sans comic violence they were cheesy,
a spandexed phone booth solution beat,
always on time, always within reach.

Sans comic violence they were cheesy,
to think that we believed in white hats,
always on time, always within reach,
tilting the world right at every turn.

To think that we believed in white hats,
calling down the easy answers of repertoire,
tilting the world at every turn.
Some time ago I wandered that dark path.

  1. For me, just when I think I’ve become cynical enough to no longer get disillusioned–I get disillusioned.
