Lightness – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“… by letting go of trying to control the uncontrollable … you ironically increase … the probability of getting what you want.” Michael Neil

Lightness

I gave the day away,
string and all,
to the silver clouds that lined the sky,
their need seemed far greater,
and I was thankful as they sped away
to some far off place,
dispensing that heavy load of must and should
on some needy desert,
desiring to be noticed by the burden of agendas
which seem to crop up everywhere like weeds.

So many weeds…have to confess that last line made me smile…too true.
