“Stuff your eyes with wonder, live as if you’d drop dead in ten seconds. See the world. It’s more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in factories.” Ray Bradbury
What Happened? Those child dreams of futures evolving, what ever happened to them? One moment consuming and real, the next parcelled in folders, hidden in crevices, packed in boxes, filed for posterity, should opportunity arise, did that world fade, did age undo the mystery of youth once offered, did maturity cover over the rabbit holes of wonderment and leave us suddenly empty, bereft of possibility? Sadly, maybe we just let go and get old. People are meant to be like fine wine, better with age.

Yes, I’ve always loved that saying, and I believe in it strongly, but i wonder that it’s finding what sort of wine to be as age kicks in. Thank you for sharing Patricia.

These days, my future is all bound up with writing possibilities, I’m happy to say. (As long as I can keep my wits about me.)

Yes, mine too and yes, hoping the wits aren’t alien. 🙂

As we age, life seems to go by more quickly.

Yes, I think it disappears rapidly in my case.

In my own case it’s disability that hinders my adventures.

Yes, though I guess with age and different ability we must seek out what we can do. Writing is mine and yours too?

I like writing but not very good at it. But it’s fun trying

Well some of us happen to like your writing, so we have a slightly different view as to whether you’re good at it or not 🙂

I read a fascinating commentary once which pointed out that as soon as our children approach the age of reason the focus changes from “what are you going to be” to “what are you going to do”. Crucial difference in mindset.

Yes, I read something like that not so long ago, agreed Ana

It seems to me that possibilities get set aside as responsibilities rise!

Yes what I often think of as abusing the possibilities. Thank you Susi 🙂

The thing I have learned is we spend all of our life saying “we want to”, instead of saying “I did this”
We get wrapped up in all the things we want to do, yet never actually do anything that we want to do.
Write down a list and go do all the things you want to do, because life is way too short to not start today.

Yes, so agree, that is it in a nutshell, we must set forth and do.
