Better To Question

My nature is to question,
to give an answer can, on the
occasion of your being somewhat lost,
be very helpful when I direct you to the
very place you want to get to, but only
geographically, no one really wants or
even needs solutions to what they
intuitively know they must experience
along life's road, our story is simply that,
our story, we cannot be anyone else's story.

  1. As holocaust survivor and Nobel prize winner Elie Wiesel taught, there are no answers to life’s big questions, only responses.

  2. I know whereof you speak. I don’t feel comfortable giving people unsolicited life advice (or solicited life advice). I can just give the questions.

  3. I take exception to this modern notion that a real friend only listens endlessly without ever offering suggestions ~ a real friend’s suggestions are as legitimate a life experience as any other, and often signal turnings in our paths much for the better and higher.

My impression of your own offerings in these situations (with which it is your profession to be constantly assailed, precisely for the excellent reason that folks know you’ve got something special to offer) is that most likely in many situations you have found the questioning mode to constitute the least offensive, most acceptable and, furthermore, most effective method of offering advice ~ thereby achieving a high affirmative synthesis of these two modes and their benefits to your conversational companions…?

  5. Yes, no one needs solutions to what they intuitively know they must experience. Care is appreciated but they must stick to their track to know.
