Stay With It – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“Forever is composed of nows.” Emily Dickinson

Stay With It

There are many unanswered questions,
I think it's supposed to be that way,
besides, to ask gains nothing in its
perpetuity, the long game is neither
past nor future, it is now, but the now
is not now, it has already passed and
another is coming up fast; so fleeting is
the now it requires our fullest attention
to stay with it.

  1. Living in the now takes a lot of concentration–or a lack of concentration. I’m not sure.

  9. Ah, yes, the great gift that is in abundance and requires our openness and attention to capture. It’s important to stay with the now.
