Beyond Our Dreams – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“There is no certainty, there is only adventure.” Roberto Assagioli

Beyond our Dreams

Is life a simple palindrome,
a symmetry from reflection,
the looking glass of limitation,
read forwards, read backwards,
always the same, even by half,
is this how the universe works,
a sullen descent to a predestination?
Or is life something less known,
less predictable, more wonderful,
because it is wild and unrestrained,
going beyond our dreams and desires.
