“Birds are a miracle because they prove to us there is a finer, simpler state of being which we may strive to attain.” Douglas Coupland
Observe The Birds The scrub wrens came as a breeze, squeaking and wafting through the base of the shrubs, while the New Hollands danced along the top, the fairy wrens flittered through the middle following their familiar trail, the silvereyes falling through them like gentle rain, and for a moment we're enthralled, delighted by dance and song, but soon they move on till their afternoon run, where we wait to be entertained and to learn to see what goes on. Love this poem. I don’t know any of the birds you mention, but I understand it perfectly in “my birds”. Hurrah for universal poetry!

Had to look up silvereyes. I can see how they got their name. A lovely poem, Paul Vincent.

And look like they have spectacles on.. or dual eye patches. I’ve never seen one.

Birds are delightful to watch. It is the mating season here, and cardinals are singing in the woods around us. ❤ Thank you for a lovely poem, Paul!

A delightful poem and a wonderful quote as well, Paul. I also referred to Ms Google and it seems your silvereyes are related to our white-eyes. Sweet little birds, I often see them in the garden.

Yes, they really are sweet, and fun to watch, thank you for the reference to white-eyes, I love to learn.

Yes, I’ve gathered that from some of your responses to the more nature focussed poems, you certainly rejoice in nature. Yes, the birds are such joy.
