“You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.” Mary Oliver
What Is Love? What is love, merely an electricity, a heady overstimulation of touch, a voracious lusty coupling, or is it the meeting of like minds, a copulation of thoughts and imaginations, or is it the pleasure of being held, being acknowledged, yes, it is all of that, but surely love, real love, is the feeling we have when we know someone really wants to be with us as we are, the rest is icing on an already glorious cake. A beautiful poem, Paul, and a very astute observation! How many women have fallen into the trap of falling for a “bad boy” with the idea of reforming him? I am not sure whether men also do this. 🙂

Ha, too many and yes, men do it too, and the4 results are not good. I often wonder that some of these people are from abused backgrounds.

Yes, forget love’s never having to say you’re sorry. Love is accepting completely. Lovely poem.

Love is everything … love is the drug… there ain’t no cure for ..
Where Is Love?
Behind every word
There is a thought
Between every thought
There is an emotion
Underneath the emotion
There is a heartbeat
Below the heartbeat
There is a soul
Within the soul
There lives love

The power of this love cannot be underestimated:
“love, real love, is the feeling
we have when we know
someone really wants to be
with us as we are.”

A romantic realist. You could teach a course on loving in the real world.
