At dVerse Ingrid is hosting Poetics with an invitation to write a poem in iambic pentameter.
dVerse Poets – Poetics – Pounding the Pentameter

“Every day begins with an act of courage and hope: getting out of bed.” Mason Cooley
Together We Conquer It All My dear friend you stir me to rise to the challenge of this moment arrived, I would rather have stayed in bed and savoured my lovely lurid dreams, those tides of mind that thrall me and hold against the swirling world that exhausts me to retreat away from the madding, baying crowd, but you have called me forth from my deep resistant slumber to an awakening of myself as part of the greater, wide whole of the spark of human endeavour, where together we conquer it all. When you can go together with friends it’s really much better than those fruitless dreams… all we need is empowerment.

Now, if that poem won’t motivate you to get out of bed, I don’t know what will! 🙂 Have a great day, Paul! ❤

Bold piece Paul, well written. I know the occasional resistance to open ones eyes upon this world. But I agree my friend, that poetry can rally! 🙂

I really like your bed being escape from the rat race. Reality or Dream reality. Can’t seem to control either one!! Beds are a blessing we seldom recognize!

Love your poem!! Might be a good idea to print it out and read it each morning before “bounding” out of bed!
