Everywhere – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“I have hope in people, in individuals. Because you don’t know what’s going to rise from the ruins.” Joan Baez

Everywhere

Everywhere we went across space and time
people were suddenly rebuilding the ruins
of their lives and moving beyond the clamour
of stuckness, seeking a clear view of their
smallish lives, without creating the sense of
a virtue and, rather, seeking inner wisdom,
just as the ancients had done.
