“Silence is a profound melody, for those who can hear it above all the noise.” Socrates
The Noise I've been thinking about all the noise, there must be a way to bring it down, ever wondering what silence sounds like, and dare I speak seeking the right words. There must be a way to bring it down, to emerge from the enclosure of shadows and dare I speak seeking the right words, that which should never be mentioned. To emerge from the enclosure of shadows, it takes time for the eyes to adjust to light, that which should never be mentioned, although nothing is unsayable in the least. It takes time for the eyes to adjust to light, ever wondering what silence sounds like, although nothing is unsayable in the least, I've been thinking about all the noise. I think that Simon and Garfunkel know a lot about silence.

Silence is always within but unlike noise, it doesn’t insist on being noticed, it waits to be asked to share its peace and wisdom.

The pantoum was a good choice to pose questions about bringing down the noise to hear the silence.

I love the poem and the photo. And oh my latest post is a little related to your poem. 😁 I remember someone said here the word synchronicity.

There is something quite magical in silence, something which I first really noticed during our initial hard lockdown where for hours at a time, there was no sound of traffic, just the sounds of nature. Your poem expresses that feeling so well.

I resonate with your experience Chris, lockdown, brief as it was over here in our west, was amazing for the silence, and so wonderful as you say – nature sounds were audible. Many thanks.

I love the cascading repetition of the second verse. It is difficult to focus on silence when the brain is doing the hard work of thinking. xx Michael

Ah, silence. The connection to spirit. Where all can be said and our hearts will be heard when we adjust to the light of our being.
