Invited Here – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

Video: predominantly Sheoak (Allocausuarina) section at Paull’s Valley, several birds calling out.

“Birds are a miracle because they prove to us there is a finer, simpler state of being which we may strive to attain.” Doug Coupland

Invited Here

Ornithic conversations float
through and gently interrupt the
otherwise prophetic silence of
the sheoak grove whose carpets
hush every footfall and falling leaf,
so that the oratorio is central to
all who are adopted, invited here
as kin for just this one divine
moment of meaning being sung
back to us.
