“The still point of the turning world. Neither from nor towards, neither arrest nor movement ….” T.S. Eliot
The Choice If I stand here, where do I stand when this place is between one thing and another, if the choice is between two sources of happiness can I be happy between or, must I choose the not between and, having chosen, will I be filled with regret, being accused by that not chosen or, will I take refuge in the moment? A familiar dilemma, Paul! ❤ ❤ ❤ Wonderful poem!
It's amazing how many ways we find to torture ourselves. When I was in high school, wanting to do the right thing, I was splitting hairs over every decision. It took me a while to conclude that not every choice we make is a moral decision. Whether I wore the blue shirt or the green shirt today was a decision without ethical consequence!
Thank you for a thought-provoking post. It gave me a chuckle remembering my own teenage folly! ❤ All the best!

Or will I choose too late and be rejected by both opportunities, having to start again? So much thinking.

If I am honest and sincere, with myself and everyone, I believe unknown power flashes in my mind, to decide correctly!

I think once you have as much data as is possible, if there is still no clearly “correct” choice, then a random decision is as good as any – but then you choose to make that decision the correct one. 21 years ago we tossed a coin to decide whether to get married and stay in Australia together, or each go off to post docs in different countries. For our 20th anniversary I gave my husband a 2-headed coin. 🙂

It is the acceptance of not-knowing that leaves us open to not compare to what we did not choose and take refuge in the moment.

Yes, I find that very much so Astrid, and when we don’t we freeze up.
