“Winter is a season of recovery and preparation.” Paul Theroux
The Feeling I can see how that flowed into my life, the feeling that winter has possessed me with unexpected gratitude for respite, a stepping back from the brazen sun. The feeling that winter has possessed me, leading me along a mindful hibernation, a stepping back from the brazen sun with time to be quiet and ruminatious. Leading me along a mindful hibernation through completely different connections, with time to be quiet and ruminatious, a curious collect of creative experience. Through completely different connections with unexpected gratitude for respite, a curious collect of creative experience, I can see how that flowed into my life. “with time to be quiet and ruminations” you have put that in a very precise manner.
I have always feel like winter is quite dull and gloomy season. It seems like everything has lost its colour.

Yes Paul !! .. I am not as active over winter as I used to be … and the hibernating process allows me slow my system down and appreciate the cool calmness that surrounds me …

A lovely cast of winter’s respite from the brazen Sun. Love the introspection while in hibernation, but also love that transition to Spring. Heavy rains here today, rejuvenating all

Winter is really a gift to be able to relax. But this year I would like to make an exception. 😉 Best wishes! Michael

Love this poem (and the form). It’s all Summer and gardening and beach in my neck of the woods, and what a relief it is this year…and yet, I’ve always loved Winter, and you have wonderfully put in words how I feel about a cold, quiet, gray November day with a slow down of life coming. Thanks!
