“It’s pretty clear now that what looked like it might have been some kind of counterculture is, in reality, just the plain old chaos of undifferentiated chaos.” Jerry Garcia
Where Fish Swim Let's go from here and explore along where fish swim through trees and birds fly with ease deep underneath, delighting in nightingale songs and the loud silence of earthworms, who alone can move mountains yet go unnoticed though they are giants, then fly a kite in a starfish bowl, O how we mock ourselves under nature's forgiving gaze, that we could even begin to imagine an ordered life, where everything is inside out and upside down and round again, we must simply live into that one electric, platypus moment knowing that there is no other. ©Paul Vincent Cannon
A sensational finale to your wondrous poem about the unnoticed presence of nature
“we must simply live into that one
electric, platypus moment knowing
that there is no other.”

Always my pleasure Paul.. I’m afraid I don’t get to every post these days Paul… I just do the best I can.. My site has grown beyond my expectations, and my list of readers and followers is far beyond the capacity and capabilities of this old plumber/poet.. 🌏🤗🙄

Great one Paul ! And I loved the quote too. We do indeed live surrounded by chaos. I wonder if we could imagine, much less create, an “ordered life.” It’s a myth that we have control. But I can imagine much more disorder 🙂

Yes, madness to think we’re in charge, but I must say, that’s what I really love, we just never know what will happen next, I wonder that that is what attracts the like of us to wander in wild places?

Jerry Garcia thought that being weird was a complement, but he also took a lot of acid.

Exactly in moments. Wonderful piece Paul. Chaos is fine if we can sort things out from time to time. 😂
