He Knew – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“We can always begin again.” Sharon Salzberg

He Knew

He closed his eyes watching
the heavy laden dark cloud,
he knew it would rain down
drowning torrents in his heart,
only this time he refused to
barricade and resist waiting
for the first trickle to knock,
so he opened the door and
took strength in surrender.
