Moonish – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

“The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets.” J.M. Wonderland

Moonish

Even when she was full
moon was moonish subtle,
her gestures wafting like
jasmine on a summer's eve
that stirs the heart to glow
as lover's light unveiled,
sung on by a chorus of
lesser glimmers of night,
that curved a smile on her
lips as she pretended not
to see me in the shadows.
