“Is there anything in the universe more beautiful and protective than the simple complexity of a spider’s web?” E. B. White
My Eye’s Delight
I saw her working,
her uncertain, improvised easel
holding a whitened canvas,
just waiting for those
seemingly random daubs
of bold impressionism,
free form interpretations
splashed with meaning,
today there was no mere
Renoir or Cezanne,
this delicate weave of
gossamer sheer,
an orb’s masterpiece
for my eye’s delight.

Humm!
The spider web is really a site to behold, just speaks out a perfect canvas of Nature formed out of nothing.
It pains me in the heart when I unknowingly bump into these webs.
Not just for the fact that they are irritants to the skin, but because I feel these tiny, boneless creatures must have laboured their lives according to their own scope trying to come up with a residential abode.
Thanks Mr Paul.

I know just what you mean! I think what amazes me most about spider webs is how symmetrical they are.

I love spiders always have, could never understand the hysteria over them. Beautiful art indeed, thank you VJ.

I didn’t want to pass fears on to my children. I did such a good job that my son had a pet tarantula, lol.

Haha, way to go. Our youngest son has been a wild life officer in Parks and Wildlife Dept, and ever since he was three it’s been spiders. He ended up being part of a research group into a rare spider here. No room for fears here after all that 🙂 I’m impressed VJ
