De at dVerse has invited us to write a quadrille (44 words) using the word fix, or any of its forms.

“I have measured out my life with coffee spoons.” T.S. Eliot
To Have
To have and to hold
that objet d’promesse,
panacea of the hours
since the Edenic dawn,
the reason, the will,
to live the moments and
scale walls as mountains,
or suffer drudge in strides,
glorious aroma of life,
that first fix sip,
le cafe.

Note: objet d’promesse (Fr.) – object of promise; le cafe (Fr.) – the coffee.

Sometimes I think I could get used to this quieter way of life! Sure beats the rat race!

Yes, the fodder we become for the production meat grinder, then on top – the social climbing trap, so many options.

Yes, I often wonder how many people actually do, just imagine the change in communities ….

Le cafe, how wonderful it is to smile at the last line of a poem. Cheers.

My confession is that I bought a coffee machine when the pandemic was looking likely, I’m an addict, glad I did. Thank you Bjorn, Eliot is right.

The morning coffee does seem like the first fix of the day.

Even the third, lol, I’m keen on my coffee. I’m getting less buzz as I age though, thank you for your confession 🙂
