“Honour women! They entwine and weave heavenly roses in our earthly life.” Friedrich Schiller
My Drug Of Choice
Suppine,
arched,
short breaths,
ragged,
slowing,
dissipates,
assuaged,
and the moment passes,
though your eyes
offer playback,
you,
my drug of choice,
and as much as I might try,
you’re the habit
I can’t,
don’t want to
kick.

Very fantastic expressions, Paul! “(…) you,
my drug of choice, (…)” Fabulous!
Remembered my on this song from an Austrian interpreter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cttn7XRUKmg You are like cocaine.

Really? 😉 My drugs were only nicotine and caffeine. :-)) Both sometimes to the maximum.

This is such an intimate poem, I almost feel I should avert my eyes. Well done!

So true Liz, it is indeed and it sure did come from an averting place, but no shame in poetry I say. 🙂

I really enjoyed this. Thank you. Hi there. I am going around the neighborhood introducing myself. My name is Marc. My blog contains excerpts from my book The Driveway Rules. It contains memoirs about growing up with undiagnosed autism. I hope you stop by.
