“It takes a long time to become young.”  Pablo Picasso

Another Me

In the mirror I am older now,
the taut youthful skin a little sallow,
and at times my body cries to slow,
but there is another me
who resides behind my eyes,
looking out on the world
as I have always done,
the young me
who lives past age.

  2. “My mind is nineteen; it’s my body that I have problems with,” my Grandmother used to tell me. We never really grow up do we?

  3. Age is judged by the appearance of our body, yet spirit has no age, it simply offers who we are. I love seeing spirit through the eyes.

  6. We are who we are inside, even though many societies attempt to marginalize that
spirit as we age. I say good luck keeping this old coot down (Ha!)
