“Everyone has their own ways of expression. I believe we all have a lot to say, but finding ways to say it more than half the battle.” Criss Jami
Words
Words can be thin and easily folded,
neatly taken, put away,
never taking up much room,
always about to lead off
but never actually getting started,
an economy of scale for
benign conversations,
and sometimes words are
so swollen, so full
that I cannot fit them
into the narrow space between us.

Silence may speak volumes, but true communication is open. Finding that balance is important.

Yes, I’m more thoughtful about it these days, age and experience I guess. Thank you for reflecting on this Ken.

Where would we be without words, I guess everyone would be grunting all the time.

I wonder what percentage of words are ever spoken. So much of our dialogue
is internal.

the duality of words, given and received, its strengths and weaknesses exposed, Paul I really appreciated this tight and precise piece.

Good poem … words, however, are easy … it’s actions that are sometimes more difficult.

True in most ways, but in the poem it’s that inner sense of holding back in the important moments because so much gets in the way, a sense of needing space to carefully negotiate the emotions – but that would be abnormal in many relationships in my experience, mostly it’s yelling and running away emotionally.

Words can also be feathers
but sometimes like lead.

Yes, and what interests me about that is the way perception, mood and context are so enmeshed in getting to that, thank you Bjorn.
