Because – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

VJs Weekly Challenge – Whisper

“There is a road from the eye to the heart that does not go through the intellect.”  G.K. Chesterton

Down he went for there was a road
and roads must be wandered
no matter the cost,
because roads whisper
so many things of love and life,
not least the mystery of other,
the inexplicable unnamed love,
that gaze of sun and moon,
and to contend with every
bend and slope and not
be curbed in any way,
just to listen in himself,
to embody the resonance of
every breath the road
would give in wisdom.

  4. I love your fresh take on the road metaphor! You’ve taken it and made it new. For some reason, as I read, my thought was that dirt roads are best.
