VJs Weekly Challenge – Whisper

“There is a road from the eye to the heart that does not go through the intellect.” G.K. Chesterton
Because
Down he went for there was a road
and roads must be wandered
no matter the cost,
because roads whisper
so many things of love and life,
not least the mystery of other,
the inexplicable unnamed love,
that gaze of sun and moon,
and to contend with every
bend and slope and not
be curbed in any way,
just to listen in himself,
to embody the resonance of
every breath the road
would give in wisdom.

I love your fresh take on the road metaphor! You’ve taken it and made it new. For some reason, as I read, my thought was that dirt roads are best.

I would agree, I experience dirt roads as best. Thank you for taking time to reflect on this and sharing your thoughts Liz.

Yes, I think in me it’s a hankering for freedom and something from the past as well, plus a time to regenerate. My stuff. So seductive.

There is just something about the open road that carries such promise. You are not alone.
