dVerse Poets – Open Link Night

“How can we know ourselves by ourselves? Soul needs intimate connection, not only to individuate, but simply to live. For this we need relationships of the profoundest kind through which we can realise ourselves where self-revelation is possible ….” James Hillman
To The Centre
Beyond the face of it
time is best immersive,
taken slowly,
small steps, never strides,
a very small journey that is quite long
from the outer to the centre,
a lifetime more or less,
and the closer one draws
to that precious place
is to feel the layers peeling off
with a new vulnerability
open to the world
as the mask thins and
crumbles to the ground.

Your words are a journey in itself.
Being unafraid to become more of who one is, and moving towards self-acceptance, is liberating.

This is so good, Paul! I love the idea of taking life in small step. Think how much we miss when we stride through life like a bull in a china closet!

Nice. The more layers we shed of ourselves , the more move towards our true original self.

I like the description of the journey to the center as removing layers and increasing vulnerability.

I’m reflecting on how I need to be more immersed rather than a gadfly buzzing about, I’m definitely enjoying immersive these past years. Thank you so much Liz.

Life and work in these times can definitely be an impediment to immersion.

The gradual realization of self: taking time to draw breath, pause and enjoy the moment. Thank you for the reminder to do this more; because we can.
