“Desire is the kind of thing that eats you and leaves you starving.” Nayyirah Waheed
The Self Entwined
Amazing,
that moment,
that feeling,
when the edge is transcended
and the real is the moment,
things blur,
pulse races,
heart faints,
and then
somehow awakened,
only to see,
to know
that it is merely entanglement,
the self entwined
in a desire of its own,
seeking expression,
fulfilment,
perhaps, even
expiation.

So many times I have awaken from dreaming with desire pulsing, only to be reminded of limitation. Cruel Self. Nice write.

The realization that the self is mere entanglement is the real awakening.
Wise words, Paul.

I think I’ve experienced this feeling even in waking life.. When you can feel so close to something and yet only to realize it’s just out of reach. Wonderful write! 😊
