“The henna on her hand, smells of his love.” Lonely Bear
Photo: found at mehndiweddingdesign.blogspot.com
As Love Awakens
To waken
where she’s always wakened,
just once more, before
her beloved enfolds her in his world,
the smells and sensation of this
moment will last long into memory,
the henna carrying more than its sum,
a cipher for waiting and longing
and pointing to a tear
that rends the heart, just as
it promises adventure,
soon the paste will dry,
it will fade and blur,
but not her love, her love
decorates her heart,
her love will shine
as she awakens.

I will never understand why people disfigure themselves by covering their bodies with tattoos.

And yet I chose the photo after, I wonder sometimes that they do fit so well, yes, that description still works. Thank you Liz, very observant.

Isn’t that funny! As soon as I posted the comment, the thought crossed my mind that you might have chosen the image after the poem.
