“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Eleanor Roosevelt
New Eyes
There’s a tragedy to living small,
locked in a narrow singular mind
that was planted in a standard
tiny pot and failed to bloom,
stunted by constraining values,
abandoned to a dry and limited field,
yet there is a way through,
to stir up dreams
that invite new eyes.

You describe the tragedy well and I believe the soul pushes us to escape such trappings.

I’m always mindful of the garden experts when they instruct us to choose the most healthy plants, but occasionally a plant rescue delivers a wonderful surprise. 🙂

It certainly does, I have a few particulars who are rescue plants, and they have been a blessing. So agree Tracey, plus, the ethic is one we need urgently.

Really outstanding, Paul! Thank you for this “eye opening poem”. Just a view minutes before i wondered about the less people on the streets. They are all in buildings or in cars. A community near Orwell’s prophecy.

Yes, Orwell was a great prophet, Huxley too, we didn’t listen. Thank you Michael

I remeber. Yes, Huxley too. Somedays we will ask ourselves, why we not did.
