Gratia Participo – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

dVerse Poets – Open Link Night – Thankfulness

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

Gratia Participo

Moments inhabit our togetheredness
all that has gone before of
memory skin
familiar senses
looking deeply into soul
where a certain light shines,
a resonance, reflection,
knowing the other,
never captive to yesterday,
ever thankful
for the new day.

Note: see how the Latin carries the purity of thankfulness as a verb form, it is something that we do.

  4. I wonder how much this affirmative really works… I do believe in gratitude, but sometimes we need to curse the world just a little bit … 🙂
