“People don’t deserve the restraint we show by not going into delirium in front of them.”  Louis-Ferdinand Celine

The Only Way

I wanted to scream
to shut them up
but their mouths just ran on
blathering jibber jabber
in irretrievable time now
lost forever in a cloud
of noise that hurt my ears
and dulled my mind,
till I could take no more,
so I opened my own
and climbed in,
it seemed the only way.

  1. Sometimes it is the only way to put an end to the blathering jibber jabbers–loved that line!

  2. You have described the perfect moment where you wish it was acceptable to yell “Shut the f*”k up!”

    Well nuanced.

  4. Yikes! 🙂 Decaf! Deep breaths, let it out slowly… Don Knotts always looked genuinely disintegrating, and very funny

  7. I found this poem frightening. It reminds me of that awful feeling that I’m the only person in the world who isn’t crazy–and the only way is to reason them out of their insanity, but it won’t work.
