“In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth.” Gandhi
And Not See
I wanted to write that one thing
something from deep inside
with such clarity
nothing could elude
and incisive revelation
of my true self,
undefended,
raw and whole,
beyond shame
without fear,
but the deeper I dug
the more I held close,
for even in the desire
I was unwilling to face
those depths,
which goes to show
that you can shine a light
down long dark hallways,
and not want to see.

So much easier to ignore the dirt, than to clean it up. The ending ties this together so well.

I found this poem via a link from one of your more recent ones. It resonated with me in my own life, but then, I also got thinking that it is a very succinct description of the ever worsening problems in my country.
Thanks for sharing,

Yes, that distinction between willing and unwilling, and then the blatant denial, so much to heal out there.
