dVerse Poets – Poetics- Using the Art of Beverly Dyer
Art Work: Beverly Dyer – ‘October Feathers’ provided by dVerse Poets.
“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.” Emily Dickinson
Take Flight
Questions dawned
as I wandered the edge of my garden,
the borders of my day,
I stooped to retrieve a feather
which answered my question,
“How shall I?”
with such a lightness,
that spoke,
“Take flight Little bird,
take flight.”

I enjoyed this one, sometimes one just needs to spread those wings and see where things go.
I contemplated using this piece of artwork.

Feathers lost from flights already taken speaking of what they know best. Love the message in your poem.

This invokes a light-hearted spirit letting wings take flight, the odd feather tells the story of sacrifice and delight.

“Take Flight” took the top of my head off.
“If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry. These are the only way I know it. Is there any other way?” ~ Emily Dickinson
