Worth Mentioning
The sunrise was impressionist
but it wasn’t that,
the birdsong was a symphony
but it wasn’t that,
the rain a pleasant splatter
but it wasn’t that,
the perfect morning coffee
but it wasn’t that,
my sanguine mood
but it wasn’t that,
our lingering morning kiss,
it was that.

It does change with age and health, but is also reliant on two, not a simple matter really. And thank you for the compliment too.

Wonderful poetry, Paul! Fantastic work 🙂
Just a heads-up (because a few other bloggers including Fandango & Pensitivity101 have written about it) – Tygpress, an account at Digital Ocean, is reblogging different bloggers’ work without their knowledge or permission (yours included) – if you type in your website, a number of your posts come up; good thing you used the copyright symbol on every post, so that helps avoid plagiarism.
Plenty of bloggers have already complained though, so hopefully it’ll be addressed soon.

Many thanks for the heads up Tom, a lot coming through on that today. By the time I got to check, the site was down – I’m interested to see what happens next, also – thanks you for your response to the poem.

this had me smiling, love the final two lines, I was expecting it yet it was precious to feel its lingering pulse

Yes, the poem sets up the obvious ending, but I had the same reaction in the first draft, it felt good those last two lines, many thanks for your reflection Gina.
