That Ignites
What is wind that we matter,
that we could see it truly
or know it closely,
but it lingers not,
instead, shifting often
and inhabiting new guises,
cheerful breeze or sullen nor-wester,
sails fill and sheets dry,
leaves all astir
as windows rattle,
gentle or angry
that’s as winds go,
but the most fearsome wind,
the most difficult of all,
besides the wind of change
a thing of beauty,
the cyclone that
ignites my mind again.

I very much enjoy your painting of the wind. I like the idea of wind as spark plug as well 🙂

Very beautiful and I loved it but I like the “sheets dry” best because it brought back memories or when I used to hang my sheets outside and get that amazing scent!

That cyclone…it is what keeps us filled with words to write. Quiet still days bring a preparation for the cyclone energized days. Love your thoughts, as always.
