Too Many
I walked the lake around today and
said a prayer for the one tree who
had sighed its last lying in the midden
of our lust and sorrows, lachrymose,
I have said too many prayers of late.

Yes, disastrous situation, and politicians don’t seem to care, they seem to bury their heads in the past.

Sadly so, especially after many occasions.

It seems we need more than prayers, Paul. Sad indeed.

Yes, we need a heartfelt revolution to shift the trend. Recycling and energy saver light bulbs are all good, but more work needs to be done on lifestyle.

Poignant. How I felt driving through the mountains this past weekend, through all the dead trees from a forest fire.

So powerful and sad. Thank you though for a new word to add to my list of new words. I had never heard the word “lachrymose” before. It is a good (but sad) word that I suspect I can use sometime.

Thank you so much LuAnne, lovely response, and glad you like that word, I think it has a wonderful sound as you say it, hope you use it.

It does sound lovely. I will not only try to use it in my writing but maybe sneak it into a conversation as well. I love learning new words so I thank you very much.

Thanks a lot sir for the great message for all of us especially for the environment lovers and for those who are trying to save the earth from odd climate changes.

Very good, albeit very sad poem. There will be a price to pay for our lack of good stewardship over the earth. 😥

Sadly so Jill, I hope before we go there’ll be a Nuremberg Trial for the gutless holders and keepers of power.

So sad. We must never give up our tears and prayers! They are needed to nourish and strengthen us for the battles yet to come. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
