Shadowy Mawk – a poem by Paul Vincent Cannon

dVerse Poets – Love the words

If you wanted an example of nonsense … here’s a pile 🙂

Shadowy Mawk

Shadowy mawk of an open crypt
you dust-tongued wizened husk I smell
skulking, grave-groping, gurgling mass
of a griddle slack squawk eternal,
a mere muffle-toed peep
or sad gingered scrape,
such a hare-heeled fluvial flunk
ever to creep horror loathed
mickle-hearted or
sulphur scrack.

  8. I wonder which appeared first, your description of what you saw, or your poem conjuring such a beastie! Scary, like the special effects in a movie. You know it isn’t real, but if it were…

    • The poem came immediately, then I saw an image, though it was difficult to find a ready made one to fit. Yes, but if it were … I must say I had a lot of fun with this one, thank you so much for reflecting on it.
