Wherever We are

Sometimes
when we hold closely to
a pressing darkness
we surrender to an emptiness
a quagmire of despair
that is an implosion of hope
and yet,
the very thing we hold
at our centre
is the lightness of light
that is always wherever we are
as gift to the world.
