Your gift of Light
I once sat in a darkened room,
no sliver of light under the door,
a thorough black.
Though, I wasn’t alone.
I sighed, just a contented sigh.
The sigh of a good day’s end,
astringent wine and camembert,
and you.
The day has now flown,
night has encamped.
We forgot the light and
sat knowing without seeing.
I asked if you remembered.
You know, that time?
Your smile sparkled,
a galaxy of its own.
